People are really romantic about the beginnings of things. Fresh start. Clean slate. A world of possibility. But no matter what adventure you're embarking on, you're still you. You bring you into every new beginning in your life, so how different can it possibly be.

VOWS

The vow is simple, really. Those who take it promise to stay together for better or for worse. For richer or for poorer. In sickness and in health. To honor and to cherish. Forsaking all others. Until death do us part. Yes, the vow is simple. Finding someone worthy of such a promise is the hard part. But if we can, that's when we begin to live happily ever after.

Good Deeds

People do good deeds for many reasons, but sometimes good deeds have bad consequences. Correcting a colleague's mistake could breed resentment. Opening one's home to a friend can damage that friendship. Trying to bring a spouse closer might push her further away. That's why there's an old expression about helping people - No good deed goes unpunished.
